Strong brands know exactly who they serve best. For CoverGirl, that means reconnecting with a generation that has been central to the brand's story for decades. Gen X accounts for roughly one-third of beauty spending and is projected to remain the world's highest-spending generation across consumer categories through at least 2033 — a consumer group with real purchasing power and a clear appreciation for quality, accessibility, and value. Gordon von Bretten, President of Consumer Beauty, put it plainly in Bloomberg Businessweek: "We're going to be intentional about serving that consumer, rather than trying to be everything to everyone." That intentionality shows up in the work — from campaigns featuring models aged 45 to 55 to sub-$10 innovation that keeps accessibility at the core. Serving Gen X with greater focus, while remaining a brand for all generations, is what powers CoverGirl's next chapter of growth.
